Biography

Pete is running for City Council because he believes keeping our neighborhoods safe and strong is critical to the success of District One. Pete’s top priorities include fighting crime in our neighborhoods, holding the line on city spending and taxes, and creating jobs in our neighborhood business districts.

Pete was born and raised in Omaha’s City Council District 1 where he grew up playing football at Memorial Park and soccer at Orchard Park, Nathan Hale Jr. High, and N.P. Dodge Park. He attended Dundee Elementary School, Lewis and Clark Junior High, and Central High School before graduating from Connecticut College. After college, Pete chose to return to Omaha where he earned his Masters in Public Administration at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Pete and his wife Paige bought their first home near the Country Club neighborhood before moving close to Memorial Park with their two little girls, Anna and Caroline. They attend Dundee Presbyterian Church and enjoy spending time at some of Omaha’s great neighborhood destinations in Dundee, Benson, and Florence. Pete’s mother and grandmother have also been long time residents of District One.

Pete has been active in shaping Omaha’s future in his professional life including roles as Deputy Chief of Staff to Mayor Mike Fahey, Vice President of Public Policy at the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce and as Vice President of Public Affairs for Alegent Health, one of Omaha’s largest private employers. He has also served as Chairman of the Planning Board for the City of Omaha for three years and on various community boards such as the Omaha Children’s Museum and the Benson-Ames Alliance.

In these roles, Pete has gained valuable experience working in business and health care, running city government, managing budgets, coordinating major public-private partnerships, and creating and implementing neighborhood development plans.

Pete is a Leadership Omaha graduate and has been recognized for his work being named an Outstanding Young Omahan and receiving a 40 Under 40 Business Leader Award from the Midlands Business Journal.
